19 May 2019: Sorano to Orbetello: Mileage: (52/288)

We started about an hour earlier due to the forecast of rain later in the morning. However, it rained fairly heavily just as we started. The early part of the ride involved the usual ups and downs before generally going flat or down-sloping toward the Tyrrhenian Sea. We set maps.me for the Orbetello train station, as Christopher needs to catch a train to Sienna on Monday. Then we followed a bike path to the heart of Orbetello, caught the TI person as she was leaving, and got a B & B recommendation. Toni had a room, cash only, no passport required. Yes, avoiding taxes remains an Italian tradition. We ate lunch nearby, then biked out the causeway bike path to Porto Ercole. Dinner was a fish restaurant, followed by gelato.

Once in Orbetello, we got a room just inside the walls at Toni and Judi's Bed and Breakfast, ate lunch, and rode out to Porto Ercole.
